A journey of colors

They say to trust in the Holy Spirit when you're at a loss for ideas. We rely on prayer so that He can come to our aid... but for us, it's different. At the Youth Group of St. John the Apostle, the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, manifests himself with those "tongues of fire," supporting every new project.

For this year's spiritual and educational journey, we reflected at length on the colors each of us would attribute to the Gospel: from white, the color of candor and purity, to blue, always associated with the sky, which gives a sense of the peace of the Infinite. Finally, black, fear, darkness, "a death on the cross."

Hence the inspiration for creating a moment to celebrate the Passion of Jesus Christ, witnessed by John the Evangelist, the disciple whom Jesus loved. An opportunity to unite, as always, the arts each of us possesses: dance, singing, proclamation, painting, music, and directing.

The atmosphere is suffused, the Cross is our only thought. Each color corresponds to an emotion and a passage from the Bible, animated by a succession of poems, profound reflections written by us, songs, and dances. These are moments of continuous breathing, until the "Giving Over of the Spirit." There, our breath stops, awaiting the Light. The incredible miracle of the Resurrection has occurred! The Lord brings the Living Flame, which it is our duty to guard for life, with Faith, Love, and Trust in others.

The Candle has been one of the cornerstones of our journey, a conscious and profoundly important choice; the Light spreads step by step and culminates with the painting of the Risen One, around whom we gather as Brothers and His Children.

Our most special thanks go to our educators for allowing our potential to flourish once again, demonstrating that we are EKKLESIA, KOINONIA, PAROIKIA, as we await the Kingdom of Heaven.
