Advent, Shining the Light of Hope

The Seongso Team opened the Advent season by holding an Advent wreath-making event with young people at the headquarters in Gilum-dong on November 29th and 30th under the theme of “Advent, Shining the Light of Hope.”

이번 행사는 청년들이 대림 시기를 시The event was designed to foster a deeper understanding of the meaning of the Advent wreath and to share the diverse emotions felt while making it. Participants filled their own waiting with hope by making their own Advent wreaths. The "First Sunday Lighting Ceremony," held during prayer, served as an opportunity to renew our vigilant anticipation for Christ's coming.

One young person who participated in the event shared, "I'm delighted to be able to make the Advent wreath I've only seen in churches and take it home with me. I will prepare for Christmas with a grateful heart as I await the arrival of the baby Jesus at home."

Prior to this, a silent retreat was held on November 20th and 21st to prepare for Christmas. Participants faced their own imperfections within the love of the Triune God and experienced the hand of God, who uses even those imperfections as instruments.

Although the event lasted only two days and one night, the young people calmly prepared for their encounter with God, who comes humbly in human form, through silent individual and communal prayer. The young people who completed the retreat returned to their daily lives with a burning desire to restore their relationship with God and to live a life of prayer, and asked for the grace of the baby Jesus who will be with us during the Christmas season.
