Jubilee of Vocations

The Diocese of Boa Vista, Roraima, joyfully participates in the Jubilee of Vocations, within the Jubilee Year celebrated by the Catholic Church. The Vocation Animation Service (SAV) of the Diocese was at the forefront of the organization. The event took place on August 9, 2025, with the theme: "Pilgrims because called," illuminated by the biblical motto: "Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts" (Romans 5:5). This moment was an invitation to all to have an open heart to God's call, for it is He who brings us together as pilgrims of hope, called to live and witness to our vocation with joy and commitment.

With joy in our hearts and faith in the journey, together, we celebrate the precious gift of vocation that God has sown in each heart, as a people on a journey, in the strength of the Spirit, guided by hope and faith. On this sacred ground of Roraima, we celebrate the lives of so many vocations that flourish and serve with love. We praise the Lord who calls, sends, and sustains.

The Walk helped us reflect, remember our calling, renew our commitment, and give thanks for the diverse ways we serve: in lay life, consecrated life, marriage, missionary life, ordained ministries, and in so many pastoral services. It was attended by young people and men and women religious.

The Walk began at the Church of São Francisco and culminated at the Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Bishop Evaristo Spengler, along with the parish priest of the Shrine, Father Luiz Boteon, and the beautiful presence of Deacon Djavan. During the celebration, vocational testimonies were shared, helping the people understand the lives and choices of those called to the priesthood and religious life.

The Little Shepherd Sisters were actively present in leading the walk and Mass, as they are also part of the Diocesan Service of the Holy Spirit Team. It was a unique moment to celebrate the space of encounter, listening, sharing, prayer, and renewal.

May God the Shepherd be praised in the person of all who made this moment possible. May He bless and guide the work, life, and mission of each religious man and woman on this land of Macunaíma.
