Vocational Animation Service – SAV

This August, we Pastorinha Sisters had an intense participation in several vocational events that took place in the greater São Paulo/SP area.

On the 16th and 17th, we, together with the Pauline Family, attended the traditional Vocations Fair of the Diocese of Santo Amaro, São Paulo, at the Sanctuary of Mary Mother of God, which traditionally draws thousands of people. The fair featured more than twenty-five booths, displaying materials from various Congregations, Life Communities, and Pastorals. There were several shows, sermons, Eucharistic celebrations, and much enthusiasm, attracting many teenagers, young people, families, and individuals from various locations. Confessions were also offered. At our booth, the image of Blessed James Alberione was prominently displayed, drawing much attention and enabling us to present a glimpse of the mission and charisma of the Pauline Family.

On Sunday the 24th, Sisters Adriana, Augusta, Cristiane, and Selma were at the Sagrada Família Cathedral, Diocese of Campo Limpo, where they participated in the Jubilee Mass for Families and the Elderly, presided over by Bishop Valdir José de Castro. On that day, a Vocations Exhibition was also taking place, where we were present at the booth of the Pious Disciples of the Divine Master Sisters, sharing some of our vocational outreach materials. It was wonderful to witness the dynamism and joy of those involved.

Another significant moment was on the last Sunday of the month (31), when we attended CULTURA VOC, an event held annually by the Sanctuary of Saint Jude Thaddeus, Archdiocese of São Paulo. Sister Adriana, Sister Selma, and Pauline cooperator Edriana were present all day, with a dedicated space for us, allowing us to display our materials and engage with visitors. The event brought together several congregations, ministries, groups, and communities, with shows, sermons, a moment of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the participation of several young people and children from the catechism class.

These were very meaningful moments, during which we were able to be with children, adolescents, youth, and families... presenting a glimpse of our charism and mission, both through dialogue and through the vocational materials distributed.

The seeds have been sown, and so we continue confidently praying that young people will be sensitive to God’s call and will be able to respond with a generous Yes.

Ir. Selma Aparecida de Souza, sjbp
