Blessing of the Construction Site and the Cornerstone - Home of the Sick and Elderly Sisters

“If the Lord does not build the house, in vain do its builders labor; if the Lord does not watch over the city, in vain does the watchman keep vigil.” Psalm 127:1

In joy and gratitude, the Sisters of the Philippine-Australia-Saipan-Taiwan Province give praise to the Lord for the Blessing of the Construction Site and the Cornerstone of the Home for the Sick and Elderly Sisters in Broadway, Quezon City last 8 September 2021, Feast of the Nativity of Mary. The celebration was officiated by the Parish Priest of National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Rev. Fr. Willowyn Andaya, OCD. The celebration was attended by the Contractor, the architects, engineers, the workers and few benefactors. In his brief sharing, Fr Willow echoed the invitation of Pope Francis on the importance of intergenerational exchanges and dialogue, between the elderly and young generations, as the elderly transmits wisdom to the young and the young gives vitality to the elderly. This is very true also in the consecrated life. We acknowledge God’s providence in paving the way for this project through the generous people He sent us to undertake the task to actualize the long dream of the Pastorelle Sisters of the Province: to have a Home for the sick and elderly sisters. Through the intercessions of our Blessed Mother Mary, St. Joseph, protector of the Universal Church and the Saint of Divine Providence, and Blessed James Alberione, we trust that this project may shall reach completion, for the greater glory of God.

The Novices: Naema Alim, Leini Margaret Billones and Julie Gonzalo
