Consecrated by love: 60 years of Religious Profession

On January 5th of this New Year, in the Chapel of Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd, Jardim das Pastorinhas, in São Paulo, the Pastorinhas Sisters gathered with the Jubilees, family members, Pauline Cooperators, the People of God and friends, for the Liturgical celebration of the Epiphany of the Lord, under the Presidency of Father Arnold Ntambwe Muzungu, ssp, Congolese.

Celebrating the DIAMOND JUBILEE of Religious Profession in the JUBILEE YEAR is an unparalleled blessing, and for this reason we can only THANK YOU. Thus, in this great Thanksgiving of the Eucharist, we, Sisters Daniela Vasconcelos, Elenir Agustini, Germana Azevedo, Luiza dos Santos, Maria Cecília dos Santos, Maria da Glória Anacleto, with immense gratitude, recall the path we have traveled and once again pronounce our YES to God's call to follow Jesus, the Good Shepherd.

After 60 years of Religious life, the only thing left to do is to conjugate the verb THANK YOU in all times, and the feeling of gratitude permeates the life of each one of us, at all ages and places to which we have been sent to reveal the care, compassion, welcome, teaching and love of the Good Shepherd.

In the past, we are grateful to our parents and family members who led us to Baptism and introduced us to the path of faith, and to all who collaborated in our formation and maturation in faith, in response to God’s love. We are grateful to the first Sisters and colleagues – and to the current ones – for initiating us into the life of Little Shepherdesses, who supported and sustained us in times of pain, trial, fragility and in the joy of living together, sharing life in community and in carrying out our mission.

Today, our gratitude extends to all the Sisters, to those who participate in our life and mission and to those who celebrate this solemn THANKSGIVING with us.

Looking to the future, our gratitude is already strengthened by the certainty that the Father continues to call and send us as Pilgrims of Hope, together with his People, and the Holy Spirit to enlighten us to bear witness to the love of Jesus the Good Shepherd.

May Mary, our Mother and Shepherdess, take care of us and guide us throughout our days!

For the group of jubilees,

Sr. Elenir Agustini, sjbp
