The joy of being a CRB member

We, Sister Vanda Bisato and Sister Sônia de Fátima Batagin, Superiors of the two Brazilian Provinces, participated in the 26th National Elective Assembly of the Conference of Religious of Brazil (CRB), from July 19 to 22, 2022, in Brasília/DF. The focus was on Jesus-centeredness, synodality and missionary activity.

We were a group of 412 participants, plus a lot of people working behind the scenes. The advisors helped us to see the current reality and the President of CLAR – Sister Gloria Liliana Franco Echeverri, enlightened us, highlighting openness and fidelity to following Jesus.

We chose the horizon and priorities, as well as the new President: Sr. Eliane Cordeiro, Mercedária da Caridade and the other members of the board.

We thank God for this opportunity to spend these days together, also with the representatives of the other Congregations of the Pauline Family. We had the joy of being welcomed into the home of the Pauline Sisters, in a very fraternal atmosphere.

If we are here, it is because our sisters are in the inserted communities, revealing the face of Jesus the Good Shepherd in the midst of the people, animated by the Pastoral Charism.

This time requires from each one a witness of joy, attentive to the signs of the times and rooted in the Word, which warms our heart. May we be women of the Aurora without fear of the dark.

Sr. Vanda Bisato e Sr. Sônia de Fátima Batagin, sjbp
