During the second half of January, we Pastorelle Sisters of the Padre Alberione Province, based in São Paulo, gathered in the Jardim community for various pre-established activities. After the annual Spiritual Exercises, held at the House of Spirituality of the Daughters of San Paul, in the city of Regina, the 2nd Phase of the VII Provincial Chapter took place, from January 24th to 27th, 2024. Still in the afternoon of the 24th, we shared the mission carried out in each community, during the year 2023, with an expression of a lot of life, dedication, joy and overcoming.
After the morning Eucharistic Celebration on 25/01, presided over by Father Claudiano Avelino, Provincial Superior of the Pauline Fathers and Brothers, in which the image of Blessed James Alberione was enthroned in the Chapel of Mary Mother of the Good Shepherd, we had the Official Opening of the Provincial Chapter. On this first day, we had two strong moments: the presentation of the reality of the Province in all its dimensions and the deepening of the General Objective for the sexennium 2023-2029: “Shaped by the love of Jesus the Good Shepherd, we become integrated, missionary and vocations, in the Synodal Church, at the service of today’s Humanity” in relation to synodality. This topic was advised by Sr. Ivonete Kurten, Daughter of San Paul.
On the other two days, we reviewed the 10th General Chapter held from 29/06 to 16/07, 2023 in Rome, and learned about the Programmatic Document, with the Priorities and lines of action that will guide our life and mission in this next six-year period. , establishing what we will undertake with greater determination in 2024.
On January 28, Sunday, we celebrated the Jubilee of Sisters Augusta Ramos and Genoveva Fogaça, with the solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Father José Carlos Frutuoso, ssp, with the presence of several family members of the jubilees, in these 60 years of Religious Profession. A recreational afternoon followed, called “Seresta Vocacional”, with several songs sung by the Sisters of Casa São José, and other entertainment.
On the 29th, in the morning, we had a meeting of the Mission, Spirituality, Vocational Pastoral – Training and Government Teams, created to animate the four programmatic areas in the Province. In the afternoon, Sr. Ivonete Kurten, fsp, provided training with the community coordinators, with the theme “A Synodal Style of Coordination”, which was very well attended and beneficial.
