JGSS @58, in gratitude and hope…

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart;

I will tell of all your wonderful deeds (Psalm 9)

Our gratitude to You our Triune God, for giving us the opportunity to celebrate the wonderful occasion of the Founding Anniversary of Jesus Good Shepherd School with your providence and mercy that sustained us throughout these 58 years of educational and pastoral presence in this Institution.

After two academic years of not being able to celebrate face-to-face our founding anniversary, finally, last February 16-18, JGSS family, experienced the exciting atmosphere in person by celebrating its long-awaited 58th Founding Anniversary with the theme, “JGSS: Moving Forward with Hope on a Synodal Journey”.

Prior to the Foundation days, JGSS held its first-ever Sports League after the Pandemic, promoting good sportsmanship, teamwork and self-discipline, Poster Making Contest, Drawing and Coloring for Kids were organized for young artist to express through visual means the theme of the celebration.

The first day started with a Prayer Service and had major events such as the motorcade, palarong pinoy, and Shepherdine’s Got Talent. All our stakeholders were engaged in all activities.

On the second day, we gathered for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Imus, Rev. Fr. Reuel D. Castaneda, JCL and two concelebrating priests, one from the Diocese of Imus Rev. Fr. Ronel Ilano and Rev. Fr. Jose Felix Cortez, SSP. Fr Reuel started his homily with a congratulatory message to our community, comparing us to an old rock that has already faced many challenges yet still stands because of the grace of God, and reminded us to always go back to the source of our joy who is Jesus.

On that same day, Awards of Recognition were given to our Faculty and Staff who have been exemplary in the service they have rendered for ten, fifteen, twenty-five, and thirty years. Recognition of Appreciation were also awarded to our collaborators from Imus City Health Office and to our dear Alumni who initiated various projects such as, Thanksgiving Raffle Tickets, Imitatio Christi, Medical, Dental and Feeding Program for our brothers and Sisters in need around our vicinity in collaboration with the City Health Office and for the Walkway Roofing Project, the Jubilee bell and Awit para sa Mabuting Pastol for the elderly Pastorelle Sisters home.

Alumni Meet and Greet, Feeding Program, and the 5th Bible Quiz championship with the Bible Enthronement were also done.

On the third day, we witnessed around the school grounds the performances of our dear Shepherdines with their beautiful and colorful dances depicting the Philippine Culture through religious and cultural festivals. We journeyed together while resonating joy and hope through the field demonstration of each grade level.

The Alumni night participated and hosted by the Silver Jubilarians, highlighted the evening and a good number of Alumni were present including the Golden Jubilarian and other batches.

The Gala night of the Golden Jubilarians was also a significant event and the Alumni were very grateful to our pioneering Sisters who touched their lives as they recalled the memories with them. We too are grateful to them for their love, kindness and generosity, in striving to share their treasure and energy for our school and for the Sisters.

Indeed it was a joyful celebration and a manifestation of a synodal journey. It is the Lord!

Jesus the Good Shepherd is with us, we belong to Him!
