Project empowers through networking: seeds for tomorrow!

The graduation ceremony for 136 students from the basic courses in Painting, Electrician, Makeup, Bakery, Seamstress, Libras (Brazilian Sign Language), and Computer Science took place in Santana do Livramento/RS on December 5th at 8 PM. These courses are the result of a partnership between the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) and the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFSUL), aimed at providing professional training for low-income individuals. This is the second edition of these courses. We, the Pastorinhas Sisters, are part of the coordination team for this project.

Welcoming, including, valuing, and enriching people's lives is the hallmark of the Capacita em Rede Project. It's a network because many are involved: those who dream of something more, who seek to be protagonists in life, who embrace the proposal, and those volunteers who believe in people's potential and also dream of a fraternal society where everyone has what they need to live with dignity. These volunteers feel gratified seeing the eyes that shine with the achievement of persevering to the end. Others join in, showing solidarity by sharing something to make the courses happen.

These are seeds that germinate in solidarity, in sharing, in improved self-esteem, in relationships, in family and solidarity economy, and in finding employment. They are small actions, but they make a difference in people's lives and in society. It is the Kingdom of God being realized.
