The joy of being a Pastorella

From March 27 to April 6, noi, Sister Ana Paula Salton and Sister Gabriele Camelo Moraes, giovani suore, abbiamo visuto un period di incontro, preghiera e condivisione during our pastoral insertion in the Parish of Santa Teresa a Santana do Livramento/RS. This is an auspicious moment in the process of formation of the Juniorate, and it was very important for our path and our mission as Piccole Suore Pastorelle. From April 2 to 6, also Sister Maria Rejane Deluchi, who is accompaniment in this formative phase, is present in the community.

The Sisters experienced the great week of Christian faith together: Holy Week. We had the opportunity to help lead the singing and lead a moment of prayer with the children and mothers of the Children's Ministry group in the community of Our Lady of Guia.

On the Saturday before Palm Sunday, we participated in the vocational rosary in the community of Our Lady of Fatima and in the Eucharistic celebration in the community of Santa Teresa. On Palm Sunday, the procession was a moving moment, in which the liturgy invited us to enter Jerusalem with Jesus, announcing that God's will is fulfilled in the suffering Servant, Christ.

During the week, we visited the Dr. Elbio Silveira Gonçalves School, where we discussed Holy Week and ethical and human values with students from second to ninth grade. On Holy Wednesday, we attended the meeting of the CRB (Conference of Religious of Brazil) steering group of the Diocese of Bagé, with several congregations in attendance. This was followed by the Chrism Mass (Mass of the Holy Oils) in the municipality of Dom Pedrito, presided over by the diocesan bishop, Dom Cleonir Dalbosco, OFM Cap.

On Good Friday, we experienced the Stations of the Cross and the Celebration of the Passion of Christ with the communities. On Holy Saturday, Sister Rejane led a time of prayer, study, and sharing of life and mission. In the evening, together with the Community of Santa Teresinha, we celebrated the liturgy of the Easter Vigil.

We thank the Good Shepherd for this experience, feeling that this Holy Week was an opportune moment to reaffirm our commitment to Christ, who gives his life out of love for his own.
