On Saturday 5 October 2024 we met in the community of Verona for the spiritual retreat, led by Don Roberto Campostrini, who proposed chapter 8 of Deuteronomy as a meditation. We were invited to: Remember – Relive – Reread.
Remember to look at moments and facts, not as if you were looking in an old archive, but with new eyes. Re-member, that is, go back to the heart, because it is there that you experience the love that gives light to all of life. We will also have memories of wounds, but without forgetting that God chose us, made us a bright light and healed the wounds with the gold of mercy. Relive facts and moments to look at everything with gratitude and say: “Thank you Lord that you never tire of me”.
Sunday, October 6: we experienced the pilgrimage to the Madonna del Frassino in Peschiera sul Garda, attended Mass, prayed in front of the small statue of the miracle, and visited the friars' cemetery, where we prayed at the tomb of Father Saggioro (brother of Sr. Fernanda Saggioro, Sjbp).
Upon returning to the community, a stop at the "Floridea" nursery to fill our eyes with beauty.
Monday, October 7 at 4:00 pm Eucharistic Celebration in the parish church, presided over by the parish priest Don Giuseppe Lonardi. Members of the Pauline Family, some relatives, friends and many parishioners were present. In his homily, the parish priest expressed his esteem for the Pastorelle Sisters, always very grateful for their prayerful presence within the community. He recommended that they always be "Mothers" who do not know the limits of age. A mother welcomes, forgives, and always loves!
The day ended in celebration with “a banquet of succulent foods” and the exchange of gifts, all to tell us: “How beautiful it is when brothers are together.”
