On Sunday, August 6, 2023, Solemnity of the Transfiguration of the Lord, a solidarity project began in our "little house" in San Miguel - Buenos Aires. This is the Hogar de Cristo "Maria Magdalena" which houses women, many of them mothers, with addiction problems seeking recovery.
Our house has been ceded on loan to the Society of Jesus to carry out this project, coordinated by Fr. Marcos Muiño sj, parish priest of the Parroquia del Patriarca San José – San Miguel, together with a team of specialists and companions.
With joy and hope we share the Eucharist and the blessing of the house, with the presence of the first occupants and part of the team, and other members of the parish community.
In his homily, Fr. Marcos said that "this place will be for the stone of addiction to be rolled away... like Mary Magdalene who saw the stone of the sepulcher rolled away to meet the Risen One, and to be heralds... a place for discover that you are a valuable person... I hope this is a place to be called by name... That those who leave here can say that it is worth asking for help, it is worth living.”
We place in the heart of the Good Shepherd and in the hands of Mary all the work begun; We feel happy to be able to give space to this work that seeks to restore life and dignity to these sisters who need help to get ahead.
