On the 7th of May of this year, the eve of the feast of the Good Shepherd, in the Parish of São José Operário, in Vitória/ES – Brazil, thirteen laywomen publicly professed their adherence to the following of Jesus Bom Pastor as Pauline Cooperators Amigos de Jesus Bom Pastor . The Holy Mass was presided over by the parish priest Fr. Robinson de Castro Cunha.
After a long preparation, accompanied by several Pastorelle Sisters who passed through this parish, who were remembered with affection, the awaited day arrived.
The Provincial Superior, Sister Sônia de Fátima Batagin, received the promises, on behalf of the Congregation of the Sisters of Jesus Bom Pastor, together with Sisters Inês Creusa do Prado and Sr. Edília Moretti who are part of the local community.
Many and profound testimonies were collected from the cooperators who made the promises, which were recorded in the documents of the Congregation.
One of the cooperators expressed it like this: “The main challenge that we lay people experience is to “awaken the world with the light of the Gospel”, following in the footsteps of Jesus. Like Paul, we are called to be “imitators of Christ” wherever we go. I am sure that Blessed Alberione intercedes for us and leads us more and more towards the pastoral mission”.
We surrender our Thanksgiving to the Good Shepherd who called them to be part of our dear Pauline Family. For everything we give thanks!
