On September 3, 2023, with great joy and gratitude to the Lord for the Feast of our beloved Mother, Maria Pastora, we gathered as a Province for a moment of sharing and communication about the recently held 10th General Chapter of the Congregation.
In the space of Pousada Bom Pastor, in Terceira Légua, in Caxias do Sul-RS, guided by the sisters who participated in the 10th General Chapter – Sr. Vanda Bisato, Provincial Superior, Sisters Ângela Soldera and Adriana Cortelini, delegates and Sr. Sandra Pascoalato , recently arrived from her period of service as General Counselor, we were able to experience a little of this family experience.
With moments of sharing and prayer, we became aware of the main issues discussed in the 10th General Chapter, we learned a little more about the reality of the Congregation at the moment in the various circumscriptions, its challenges and perspectives. We also know the new General Objective, which will guide us in the next six years. Based on this overview, throughout the semester, the Province will continue to deepen the themes covered in the 10th GC and prepare the second phase of the Provincial Chapter, which will take place at the beginning of next year.
This day was also very festive, as we were able to meet again as sisters and communities. We also had the joy of the presence of Sr. Raquél Mariano, missionary in Mozambique, who was with us as she was on vacation in Brazil. The meeting's highlight was the Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Father Renato Ariotti and concelebrated by Father Sebastião de Vargas Furtuna, diocesan, in which we collected the entire experience of the day and celebrated the Mother of the Good Shepherd.
