The 26th Archdiocesan Pastoral Assembly

The 26th Archdiocesan Pastoral Assembly took place from November 19 to 20, 2022, at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, located on BR 364, in Porto Velho. It brought together several representatives of the parishes of the Porto Velho and Ariquemes Regions, with the presence of men and women religious, lay men and women and priests.

The purpose of this assembly was to strengthen participation, communion and mission in the Archdiocese, having a self-assessment character, and an in-depth study of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan in effect (2021-2025).

The first day was assisted by Fr. André Luiz Bordigno Meira, vicar of the Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe Parish, in Campinas/SP; with the Theme: The ecclesiological proposal "outgoing" missionary. First processes.

For the preparatory phase, Fr. André proposed some reading keys for a better understanding of Pope Francis' documents: Evangelii Gaudium; Laudato Si; Fratelli Tutti, Amoris Laetitia; Christus Vivit; Dear Amazon. The objective was to deepen the theology present in Evangelii Gaudium, as an irreversible dynamic of the Second Vatican Council, to enable ecclesial communities to become more missionary. They will make it possible to build new processes in the light of the Kenosis of the washing of feet (Jn 13,1-17), going out to meet the wounded and awakening synodality with mercy (Lk 10,25-37). A new Church that is more missionary, merciful, happy, evangelical, Samaritan and a friend of creation.

The celebration on Sunday morning (20) was presided over by Archbishop Dom Roque Paloschi. During the celebration, the new coordination of the Council of Laity was sent. During the assembly, it was possible to carry out assessments, records, votes and referrals, in addition to an overview of work in the communities.

The 26th Assembly ended with the sending of missionaries, men and women, to continue the work in the light of the Gospel of a Church present on the way out.
