The family comes together in the dynamics of synodality

In the joyful and festive spirit of the Christmas season, we, the Little Shepherd Sisters of the Padre Alberione Province, arrived from our communities of insertion, in Jardim das Pastorinhas, in São Paulo, for the annual planning assembly for 2025, which took place from December 27 to 30. The coordinators or representatives of the communities participated, as well as the members of the Provincial Teams of Spirituality, Mission, Formation/Vocational Ministry and Government/Administration.

We began with the Holy Mass, presided over by Father Geraldo, known for a long time by the Pastorinhas, followed by a morning of in-depth study on the Synodal Roots of Pauline Spirituality, advised by Sister Maria Maria. Clotilde Prates, Apostolina and Sister Cristiane Ribeiro, sjbp, who helped us reflect on Synodality in the Church and the charismatic spirit of the Pauline Family Foundation.

In the afternoon we had the opportunity to hear the communities share about the Apostolic Year that had just ended and the following morning Br. Maria Sueli Berlanga, Provincial Superior, gave an overview of the reality of our Province, highlighting the positive points and our weaknesses, which need to be considered with care, so that we can continue to exercise our pastoral ministry with quality, within our possibilities. This was followed by a period dedicated to personal prayer and discernment about this reality, after which we had a rich moment of sharing in plenary, concluding the day with community prayer.

In the following days, in the light of the Word of God specific to the liturgical season, we began with tranquility and co-responsibility the Planning for the year 2025, carried out in four groups, according to the Program Areas. We resume the priorities and lines of action to achieve our General Objective for the six-year period, accepting the Church's call for the Jubilee Year of Hope... And our common desire, in tune with the Church and the dioceses where we are present, is to be we too, pilgrims of hope. The plenary session followed, with the presentation of the groups' work and the approval of the planning.

On the afternoon of the 30th, we concluded the Assembly and crowned the work carried out with a beautiful celebration of thanksgiving, presided over by our unforgettable Dom Fernando Penteado, affectionately known as “Dom Fernandinho”, bishop emeritus, in which the junior member, Sister Gabriele Camelo Moraes renewed her temporary vows for the third time. At the end of the celebration, lay missionary Miriam Bernadete de Souza was also sent, who will live in Adrianópolis/PR next year, together with Sister. Ângela Biagioni, dedicating herself, “ad experimentum”, to that very challenging pastoral mission.

Full of joy and hope, we welcome the new year of 2025, confident and courageous to continue carrying out the pastoral mission, faithfully following Jesus the Good Shepherd, together with God's beloved people.

Ir. Inácia Josefa dos Santos, sjbp
