“In your embrace, I found myself”
“How will I repay the Lord for all the good that he has done to me” (Ps 115)
With the words of the psalmist, we raise our thanksgiving to God for the 17 young women who participated in the vocational youth retreat this year, on June 29-30 and July 1, in our home in Lomas Estrella, Mexico City. . The meeting took place in an atmosphere of joy, reflection and prayer, which allowed the young women to look at themselves, to embrace themselves as “beloved daughters of God”, discovering the saving step of Him in their lives. Throughout the retreat, we were able to contemplate the work that God has been doing in each of them, and at the same time the availability of the girls, for wanting to delve deeper into themselves, in their relationship with the family and with the Lord; as well as the provident hand of the Shepherd that has been greatly noted.
We are committed to continuing to accompany them in their training process, to the extent that they allow us. And the purpose of continuing to pray and work for the youth, so that, from there, the Lord blesses us with vocations for our congregation. The desire of the young women to participate has certainly been a gift from God since they have not only been girls from Ixtapaluca, which is where our presence is strongest, but also from other parishes in the Diocese. As a fruit, the desire to learn more about the charism and mission of the Little Shepherds has emerged on the part of some.
We also thank God for two cooperators who have supported us, also our aspiring Trinidad and three young lay people, who were part of the coordinating team; At the same time, it is a great wealth to have the house in Lomas that has all the services and adequate spaces to carry out these works. It has been a different and beautiful place for the young women who have been happy to live those days there.
