JGSS Celebrates 57th Founding Anniversary

Jesus Good Shepherd School of Palico II, Imus City of the Province of Cavite-Philippines celebrates her 57th Founding Anniversary with the theme, “Living Waters of Hope (John 4:1-14) Experience…Celebrate…Live!”

The celebration from February 8 to 12, 2022 commenced with the “Palaro” last February 8 wherein virtual versions of “hulaan” or Pop/Random Quiz about the school and school personnel, Read my Lips and Guess the Movie games were organized and facilitated by the select student leaders. With a mixed feelings of joy and sadness everyone savored the moment of recalling happy memories.

The third day of celebration, February 10, was filled with excitement as the select Shepherdines showcased their God-given talents and skills by bringing it online! The talent show was livestreamed via JGSS official Facebook page. It was a showcase of students’ skills in playing musical instruments and with additional song and dance performances.

The fourth day of the celebration, February 11, was highlighted with the conduct of the Championship of the 4th JGSS Bible Quiz which was live streamed through the JGSS Facebook page. The elimination phase of the Bible quiz was participated by everyone, a great way of making pupils and students feel capable in taking part in the universal call of ministering the Word to others and to their own families.

The highlight of the event was the Thanksgiving Mass celebrated on the last day, February 12 in the morning at the Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd Chapel, with Rev. Fr. Norman Melchor Peña, SSP as Presider. It was also the Alumni Day. After the Mass, the Alumni facilitated the blessing of the Jubilee Bell for the school Chapel that the Alumni Jubilarians are donating for the school Chapel. They also donated the amount of one million pesos for the repair of the school covered walk way.

The covid-19 pandemic undeniably affected our usual celebration of activities, but it could never ever cripple a willing and united spirits. Everything was not easy, thriving with the challenges of the new normal, but it has always been a pure grace!
