It is said that: “Jubilees in religious life mark significant milestones that certainly need to be celebrated.” It is a celebration, not so much of things accomplished for 25, 50, or so… years in life; but, of gratitude to God for saying “yes” to His call to consecrated life.
Last 30 December 2020, though the invited guests who were mostly relatives, were limited in number and the celebration was more subdued
due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Sr. Vilana S. Laluan and Sr. Maria Rita M. Siochi, joyfully celebrated their 25th and 50th Jubilee of Religious Profession respectively in Imus, Cavite. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over the Most Rev. Reynaldo G. Evangelista D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Imus. Fr Lordencio Honrada, a long-time friend of the Pastorelle Sisters concelebrated. In his Homily, the Bishop expounded on the significance of the consecrated life and the challenge of the Pastorelle to shepherd the persons entrusted to our care. We are invited to take care and to guard them while blooming and becoming fruitful where we are sent.
As we rejoice and thank the Lord for the gift of God’s fidelity toward our two jubilarians, we pray that He may make Sr Marita and Sr Vilana holy. We also pray that the Lord may continue to support them with His gifts of the Spirit so that they may carry out the pastoral mission with renewed zeal leading the flock entrusted to their care with wisdom and strength and courage.
