“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
After a day of recollection facilitated by Sr. Purisima L. Tañedo, the three of us: Sr. Naema D. Alim, Sr. Leini Margaret G. Billones and Sr. Julie M. Gonzalo renewed our religious vows on 29 June 2024, Solemnity of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. The renewal took place at Mary Mother of the Good Shepherd Chapel in Imus City, Cavite during the Eucharistic Celebration presided by Most Rev. Renato P. Mayugba, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Laoag and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Stephen M. Maragañas, TC.
In his homily, Bishop Mayugba emphasized that all of us are especially chosen. Being chosen, we must be ready to die by humbly recognizing our mistakes and weaknesses like that of Saints Peter and Paul. To persevere in our vocation, we must strive to live with our Sisters in the Congregation and give our mutual support in the community.
May this renewal of vows strengthen our courage to follow Jesus Good Shepherd and to respond with our whole life to His invitation to love Him completely and without reserve that will lead us to “Christification” through the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd, Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and Blessed James Alberione.
Sr. Naema Alim, sjbp
Congratulations to our beautiful sisters, Naema, Leini and Julie. May you continue to rejoice in the Lord, our Good Shepherd, and serve his people with love!
